Weather protection housing for projectors and monitors
VICOM weather protection housings are fully air-conditioned protective housings for video and data projections as well as monitors for outdoor use.
Projections in extreme outdoor use for advertising and presentations of all kinds are being used more and more frequently. We manufacture weatherproof housings that protect expensive devices against rain, snow, hail and heat. They are fully air-conditioned and electronically controlled.
The picture above shows a cinema that projects advertising films and trailers onto its own facade. The weather protection housing was integrated into a decorative glass cube, which also serves as an advertising space.
Monitors with protective housing
In addition to protection from weather influences, monitors used outdoors also need protection against vandalism.
We use particularly impact-resistant panes and acrylic glasses here. If there is a risk of vandalism, the housings are screwed directly to the wall so that they cannot be levered off the wall with tools.

protection against
Cold, frost and snow
The weatherproof housings are independent units, thermostat and processor controlled. Indoor conditions such as temperature and humidity are constantly controlled. The system reacts immediately to changes and corrects them immediately. Use even in very harsh winters - as shown in the pictures - is a typical area of application for VICOM weather protection housings.
heat
Many installations of VICOM weather protection housings take place in desert areas, such as. B. in Arab countries or in Las Vegas. Extreme heat and especially the fine sand are a particular challenge for our engineers and production.
Conception of an all-weather climate housing
VICOM weather protection housings are built using the latest state-of-the-art technology. They cover all technical requirements and protect against any weather influences.
The outer casing consists of a weather-resistant and self-supporting aluminum frame frame that is lined with insulating foam materials. The entire housing can be screwed onto a wide variety of surfaces. Doors are of course lockable, and enhanced vandalism and theft protection is optionally available.
A powerful air conditioning system is individually tailored to the projector type and thermal energy output BTU/h. It ensures sufficient cooling even on hot days. Heating and dehumidification are controlled via sensors and thermostats.
A windshield wiper is optionally available for the projection window, which automatically regulates its own wiper intervals using a rain sensor.
The powerful air conditioning system is individually tailored to the projector type and thermal energy output BTU/h. It ensures optimal cooling even on hot days and protects the projector or monitor from damage (even when they are turned off). Heating and dehumidification are controlled via sensors and thermostats.
Each weatherproof housing has a fused electrical box for connecting the projector, but also PC (for digital signage feeds), DVD, monitoring devices, etc.
Optionally, the projection window can be automatically closed with a mechanical shutter when the projector is switched off. There are two reasons for this: On the one hand, it serves as a privacy screen against overly curious glances into the interior of the housing. On the other hand, no sunlight can fall into the lens during the day. This can be extremely dangerous because the lens focuses the sun precisely on the image modulator (LCD or DLP) and can therefore cause significant damage. A similar protection mechanism is available for monitors. This is implemented in the form of a controllable blind.
VICOM housing variants
Of course, we also build air conditioning housings for smaller projectors - also in special versions , for example for swimming pools, also with appropriate brackets.
We are happy to offer you complete systems including a projector or monitor.
The VICOM MIDI weather protection housing is the version for large projectors such as SANYO XF47, EIKI XT5, ChristieLX 1500 or similarly powerful devices. This refers to projectors with a light intensity of up to 15,000 ANSI lumens.
The VICOM HIGH POWER weather protection housing is the version for the very large projectors such as Christie HD35, Barco FLM HD30 or similarly powerful devices. Ideal for projectors with a light intensity of 25,000 ANSI lumens or more.
